  HSE Training:

  - Emergency First Aid at work – 1 day
  - First Aid at work training course – 3 days

  Offsted recmmends a 16 hour course to cover additional modules to what is already covered in the Emergency first aid at work.

  A typical course consist of the following modules:

• Primary assessment (Danger and casualty)
• Physiologyand anatomy: The anatomical diference between children and adults
• Basic Life Support , CPR, Recovery Position, Choking
• Head Injuries / Trauma
• Meningitis in children
• Asthma
• Febrile or infantile Convulsions
• Diabetes
• Epilepsy
• Burns and Scalds
• Eye Injuries
• Shock
• Bleeding & Bandaging
• Fractures
• Electric Shock
• Anaphylactic Shock & Epi-Pen
• Drowning
• Hanging
• Requirements of a First Aid Box
• Parental Administration of  Medicines

It is possible for those completing Emergency first aid at work to get additional 1 day training, which will lead to certification in the  full offsted curricullum.
